One of Florence's oldest gourmet shops specialising in truffle based products, Procacci's rich history dates all the way back to 1885. From its humble beginnings along Florence's upmarket shopping street, via de Tornabuoni, where it was famous for its panini tartufati (soft rolls smeared with fragrant truffle salsa), Procacci has come a long way. Singapore is privileged to be the first location outside of Europe to have a fully conceptualised Italian restaurant put together by the wine connoisseurs of the Antinori group.
Despite its fancy new digs at Fullerton’s Custom House, set against the stunning backdrop of Marina Bay, Procacci still sticks to its Italian heritage with its rustic décor, sensual mood lighting and a stunning gothic bar counter. But whether or not you decide to dine indoors under the ambient lighting, or outdoors while soaking in the enchanting view of the bay, you will not be disappointed by the hearty Italian fare.
The skill of their kitchen team is put on display though their diverse menu brimming with classics like grilled buffalo mozzarella wrapped with black forest ham and stewed osso buco, as well as, creative dishes like octopus carpaccio and penne flambé with vodka and zucchinis. With fresh truffles and seafood imported in from Tuscany, along with its sprawling selection of unique and rare high quality wines, Procacci truly is a food lover’s paradise.
"Founded in the heart of Florence, Procacci later expanded to Vienna before setting up its first restaurant outside of Europe right here in the Lion City. The innovative offerings here are the product of recipes steeped in Tuscan tradition, which are given an imaginative reinterpretation by the restaurant's skilful chefs." -Time Out Singapore
“We’ve been itching for Procacci of Florence fame to open ever since we first heard about them and they’ve managed to keep us in a state of suspense.” -I-S Asia-City
“Flanked by Marina Bay, the modern Tuscan-style restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating where you can soak in great water views.” -Asia Tatler Dining
In addition to being a convenient location for professionals who work in the Raffles Place vicinity, Procacci is the perfect spot for a cozy, picturesque dinner. The Chope Team certainly kept this in mind when we headed out to this exquisite Tuscan eatery.
We began with their signature Parmigiana Classica, consisting of layers of thinly sliced eggplant and luscious cheese baked to a golden-brown and balanced with a rich homemade tomato sauce. It’s no wonder it is a hot favourite among the crowd here! Moving on from hot to cold, the Tuna Tartar was resplendent. Fresh sashimi grade tuna is neatly chopped and served atop an artichoke salad and drizzled with chilli and basil oil. The basil oil provides a burst of flavour to the already delectable tuna pieces that literally melt in your mouth.
For those looking for something heavier, the Black Angus tenderloin in black truffle sauce with a generous portion of mashed potatoes, is an example of how simple cooking techniques can produce something superb. Finally, end your meal with a plate of profiteroles that is perfect for sharing. Soft-cream infused choux buns are layered on top of one another and then smothered in chocolate sauce and shaved almonds. A sweet and satisfying end to an authentic Tuscan meal. Perfetto!
