Incontro, which means "to gather" in Italian, is the perfect place to do just that with family and friends in an intimate setting. The brainchild of Amy Oh, a veteran of the wine trade and a finalist in the World Gourmet Summit Sommelier of the Year, you know you’re in for a real treat at Incontro especially when it comes to the enjoying the mind blowing selection of wines.
Don’t be intimidated by the list of over 500 wines on offer though, as the warm and knowledgeable staff are more than willing to help ease any fears you might have when finding something that suits your individual unique tastes. With friendly retail prices on wine even when enjoyed in house (prices start at $8 per glass and $38 per bottle), there’s no better place to start your exploration into the world of wine. Complementing the extensive wine selection is an equally impressive array of over 40 different cheeses from France, Italy and Spain, many of which are exclusive to Incontro. You can be sure that you’ll find a wine and cheese pairing that works just for you.
Besides wine and cheese, a full Italian menu is also available for lunch and dinner. Inspired by traditional recipes from Calabria in Southern Italy (where restaurant manager Ornella Farago hails from), you will be delighted with the unique tastes that have remained relatively undiscovered due to the tight knit nature of the community.
"Restaurant Manager Ornella Farago is from Calabria, Italy, and she personally oversees the home-made curing of the anti-pasto daily, which explains why the the antipasto platter is much sought after by the Italian customers." -Food & Travel

"With a mix of honey mustard and grey cobbled walls reminiscent of country cottages along the coast of Italy, the entire place cosiness like the home that you've always pined after. This gem of a find is the place to go if you're looking for somewhere to unwind over a delectable Italian meal, a fantastic view and camaraderie like you've never known before." -August Man
"Incontro is the ideal chill out spot. Discover a wine bar, restaurant and charcuterie displaying cold cuts and a walk-in cheese and wine cellar with more than 500 wine labels to enjoy in-house or take away." -The Finder
We love the clear display of passion towards wine and cheese that is clearly evident in the interior space. The main bar area is modeled after a traditional underground wine cellar and there is even a customized walk-in cheese cellar with double insulated glass walls to ensure that the cheeses are kept at the optimum temperature. Even the bar counters and coffee tables are lovingly crafted from recycled wooden wine crates. It’s a great chill out space by the Singapore river to enjoy that glass of vino.
We love the Premium Antipasti Platter with its Buffalo Cheese and variety of cold cuts and vegetables especially since we always love trying a little bit of everything. The Linguine Alla Amatriciana is hearty with just the right amount of a spicy kick to warm up your taste buds. For those looking for something a bit more substantial, the Agnello Scottadito, a lamb rack oven baked with fresh herbs, or the Costarelle di Maiale, baby back ribs slow baked with marsala and wine, are excellent choices with meat so tender that it falls off the bone while retaining all its succulent juices. As for dessert, definitely don’t miss the Pannacotta with Fresh Seasonal Fruit that is prepared in-house daily by Ornella using her traditional recipe.
