Adding to locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Anar, the wildly successful Middle Eastern fine dining concept, has opened yet another outlet—this time in the Far East, right here in Singapore’s very own Resorts World Sentosa. With décor inspired from a variety of Middle Eastern traditions, Anar’s opulent interior offers diners an escape to the Middle East. Round in shape, the restaurant’s architecture reflects an Arabian aesthetic, with the interior containing Arabic Persian arches constructed of tiles imported from Iran. Beyond these structural elements, the restaurant’s interior is filled with culturally-inspired elements, like detailed carvings, luxurious furniture, patterned walls, finely woven carpets, and an abundance of lamps inspired by authentic pieces in the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.

While the space is impressive, the food is what takes diners on an authentic journey to the Middle East. Revered for their culinary skill, the chef and his staff come from the Middle East, Persia, and Lebanon. At Anar, diners can select from an extensive menu with lavish dishes (for example Persian spice grilled lobster and Markeshian scallops), as well as dishes that ubiquitously appear in Middle Eastern cuisine (baba ghanouj, falafel, and a variety of kebabs). Thoughtfully spiced, delicately assembled, and made from the freshest ingredients, Anar’s cuisine satisfies even the most discerning of palettes.

Anar comes to mind when we think of places to go to impress a close friend or a loved one. If the opulence of the interior does not do the trick, the food certainly will. The variety and authenticity of the selection is truly notable.

We love the Moorish sautéed sea scallops. Thick, fresh and springy, these scallops are perfectly prepared and served with a tomato puree. The Caspian sea prawns is yet another Chope favourite. Smothered in Arabian breadcrumbs, grilled golden brown and served with a traditional Caspian dill sauce, the rivalling textures of this dish really makes it stand out. While soft and succelent on the inside, the breadcrumbs give the prawns that extra crunch. Remember to order more than one plate if you are sharing though, because you will be fighting for the last piece!

If you are feeling ambitious, go for one of the set menus. Meticulously put together, they offer a view into this varied culinary world, with the chef's favourite dishes from all over Levant, the Middle East and Persia.
