If you are looking for a respite from the daily grind over a quality glass of wine, look no further than the The Tastings Room. Conveniently located in the heart of the bay area at Marina Square, The Tastings Room was born from the desire to create a restaurant where one can unwind over a glass of wine and enjoy classic European food with a twist, with good company and a stylish-yet-unfussy environment.
The proverbial cherry on the cake however, are the suggested wine pairings for each dish, which range from classic combinations such as the Confit of French duck leg paired with a Pinot Noir or a Ribeye paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon to wines customised to your personal preference from their extensive wine list.
Wine lovers who enjoy variety will delight over the longest wine by the glass list in Singapore with more than 50 types of wine available, including vintage Bordeauxs and even Champagne by the glass. At prices starting from a mere five dollars, indulging in a good glass of red has never been more affordable! (Dec 2011)
"It's hard to argue with the sheer assortment of offerings (both food- and booze-wise). We're willing to wager that you'll leave well-fed, or at the very least sufficiently inebriated, and it's all so amazingly affordable to boot." -I-S Asia-City
"Extraordinary wines at super ordinary prices - that's the premise of The Tastings Room." -L'Officiel Magazine
"The Tastings Room does what it sets out to do - take away the snobbery of wine appreciation and just leaving you to enjoy it at your own pace." -The Business Times
"A new kid on the block offering wallet-friendly food and wine." -8 Days
Kick off your meal with a helping of their signature vine tomato soup. The smokiness of the vine tomato soup juxtaposed nicely with the freshness of the seafood, made this bowl of goodness a clear winner. As much, as the Chope team loves to be adventurous with our food, sometimes we can't help but stick to some of our favourite comfort foods. Like us, fans of fries will be delighted with the white truffle salted house fries with truffle mayonnaise. Double the truffle, double the yum!
Their pork belly is yet another stand-out dish! Prepared sous vide style, it was juicy and tender to the bite and the crackling, prepared separately, was crisp to airy perfection.
For brunch, egg lovers will find a great rendition of eggs benedict. This one comes wrapped snuggly in proscuitto ham topped with a generous dollop of hollandaise sauce! Pair it with a glass of champagne, and this will make a perfect brunch companion to a lazy weekend afternoon.
Finally, to indulge your sweet tooth, we recommend the chocolate and mango cheesecake, which made for an interesting end to our very hearty meal! The slight tartness of the mango worked well with the richness of the chocolate making it a dynamite combination. (Dec 2011)

"There are around 50 types of wine that you can order by the glass at this new bar, the owner's sobering answer to high-end restaurants that charge an arm and a leg for food and wine pairings. Chef Elvin Chew specialises in classic European cuisine, so think confit of duck with a pinot noir or ribeye steak with a cabernet sauvignon."
