Jiggs Kalra has finally opened a location of his award-winning Punjab Grill outside India, sparing no expense in transporting the experience from the North Western Frontier state to Singapore. Cooks have been flown in from the Royal State of Punjab to impart four ancient grilling techniques: Tandoor, Sighri, Tawa, and Kadhai. The resulting kebabs are amazingly tender and juicy – our Murgh Tikka Punjab Grill (the house specialty boned spring chicken grilled Tandoori style) had the firmness of warm butter and tasted like the best we had tried in India.

Punjab Grill’s formula is simple – unpretentious ambience, very friendly staff, and incredible food. Restaurant manager, Siddharth Malhotra, asks for genuine feedback from his guests, and the Grill staff are sincerely hospitable and truly love their job. You can sense it in the way they joke with the guests and with each other. They even operate on Indian time: Punjab Grill takes their last order at 11pm! (Oct 2011)
