Pontini is the perfect location for a lazy afternoon lunch over hearty pasta with friends or colleagues. Be swept up the grand staircase to the restaurant entrance, and through a waterfall-flanked tunnel into a cavernous dining room that feels informal and warm.

Renowned for being one of Singapore's early Italian fine dining establishments, chef Domenico Piras focuses on rustic favourites from his native Sardinia, the beautiful sunny island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The food is absolutely packed with flavour - every dish from the Seafood Pot with Fregola in Fresh Herbs Tomato Coullis to the classic Tiramisu should have been a chef's special. Underrated but undeterred by the comings-and-goings of more fashionable eateries flanking it on the river, Pontini has become a mainstay for one simple reason - it serves simple, good Italian food, and does it immensely well.
