The salad bar holds its own in the centre of the room. You know it’s serious stuff when the Caesar salad is tossed in a huge block of parmesan, ensuring that you get fresh chunks of the nutty goodness, and when you see 6 different kinds of gourmet salts. And if that’s not enough for you, there’s also a staggering selection of more than 30-40 ingredients you can add to your salad. There’s also an assortment of seafood, soup (2 kinds, one Western and one Asian) and other cold starters.
The main courses are prepared fresh in small quantities each time (to ensure quality), right behind the counter in the library kitchen, where curious diners can observe all the action going on behind the scene. The themes and menus change daily, so you can expect a creative variety all the time.
Don’t miss the noodle station that’s located on the terrace. With a menu of local noodle dishes such as laksa, bak chor mee, fishball noodles, lor mee and more cooked-to-order, what’s there not to love?
During the weekends, Oscar’s buffets ramp up a notch with a "Best in Asia" spread on Saturdays and an "Amazing Graze" affair on Sundays, where you can have endless servings of gourmet dishes such as wagyu beef and foie gras prepared a la minute.
Oscar’s sure knows how to spoil their guests with choice. The best part is, you CAN have it all! (Nov 2012)
