    Description

With its bright lights and clean lines, IndoChili manages to be ethnic, chic, and modern, all at the same time. Located along Zion Road, the latest venture under the Java Kitchen brand aims to offer Singaporeans somewhere a little more current and stylish when they have a hankering to indulge in authentic Indonesian cuisine.

And authentic it is – with treats ranging from the ever-popular Sop Buntut, an oxtail soup that is a staple on most Indonesian menus, to the less commonly seen Sate Ayam Madura. What we think really sets IndoChili apart however, are their charcoal-grilled items. You'll find grilled prawns, squid, chicken, and fish dressed in varying sauces, all deliciously smoky, and depending on the sauce, sweet or spicy (or both!).

Not that you should limit yourself to those of course, as the menu offers many other fascinating options such as the Indonesian Chili crab, or the Buntut Goreng Special, which is oxtail meat sauteed with onion and sweet sauce, then served alongside the aforementioned scrumptious Sop Buntut.

So prepare your palate for bold spices and strong flavours when you Chope a table at IndoChili. It's a dining experience that's well worthy of Indonesia's culinary reputation. (June 2013)

    The Buzz

"But the real heart of the menu is the seafood grills. If you have a big group, opt for the combo bakaran ($42.80) a heaping serve of grilled pomfret, squid, prawn, satay and chicken all covered in sticky kecap manis (sweet soy sauce): it'll give you a good idea of what the restaurant has to offer." -SG Now

"The result is a homely 90-seater space with just a faint touch of Indonesian flavour in its décor, which makes it feel like you're dining in the apartment of a trendy young Indonesian rather than in a heritage museum, as in often the case with most other ethnic restaurants here." -The Business Times
