The restaurant is also a favourite for weekday high-tea between 2pm and 5pm with their combination platter of savouries and sweets which serves up some truly interesting flavours. Hummerstons is a rare breed of restaurant that manages to provide both a legitimate dining experience and a casual laid-back café feel – a delicious addition to Robertson Quay’s restaurant scene. ABOUT
THE BUZZ
WHAT WE LOVE
TIME OUT
Set on the second floor of Robertson Walk, Hummerstons is a great place for people-watching. Spend a leisurely Friday evening on the balcony overlooking the throngs of partygoers in the Spanish-style courtyard below. The restaurant itself is, by contrast, romantic, casual and intimate all at once. Its owner-chef hails from PS Café, which has clearly influenced the culinary direction here. Hummerstons serves good, hearty burgers-and-fries type fare best enjoyed with their specially brewed Papa Pahleta coffee, or if the sun has sunk below the river in the distance, a large 1-litre pitcher of frosty beer.
