    Description

    Tongue-in-cheek is fine, especially when taste-in-mouth is this good. With a bold name like Coq & Balls, you'd expect merry vibes and strong drinks, and you'd be right. With a variety of beers & ciders - bottled and draught - from the US, Japan, Britain, France, Germany, and also local original brews, the list reads like the United Nations of beer. Also featuring ciders, single malt whiskeys, cheeky cocktails, wines and sake, Coq & Balls has always been generous in letting you pick your poison.

    With raw, modern furnishing, an eclectic mix of jams and TV screens ready for the big game, it made sense that the owners drew inspiration from Melbourne's alternative bar scene. So we were not surprised to see filling tapas like Lemongrass Wings, Popcorn Chicken & Nachos, even a special Thai cuisine to escort our drinks. (Feb 2021)

    "If you ignore the weather, this place is reminiscent of Melbourne's vibrant bar culture. The owners, having spent seven years there, wanted to transpose some of their experience into Singapore. They've stripped back the shophouse to its bare bones: exposed brick walls, ceiling beams and metal stools create a deliberately unpretentious atmosphere.
