    Description

Following the runaway success of the less than one year old Brasserie Gavroche, Chef Patron Frederic Colin is delighted to unveil his second food and beverage venue. A new sibling to the Gavroche name, the latest establishment, aptly named Café & Bar Gavroche is located on 69 Tras Street, just across the brasserie.

Paying homage to his French roots, Chef Patron Frederic has sourced a collection of artisinal Pastis from the South of France - the largest selection in Singapore with 50 different labels and growing! Resident Wine Guru, Manuel Rodrigues, also charms wine lovers with an affordable list of wines sourced from all over France, with at least 50 bottles under $100. Join him on a wine discovery with a specially curated menu of Wine Flights, enjoyed in flights of 5 (from $32) or flights of 3 (from $16).

Diners can also look forward to breakfast enjoyed as they do in Paris, with Weekend Breakfast A La Francaise from 10.30am on Saturdays and Sundays. Expect rustic and hearty portions of freshly-baked croissants, pastries and country breads along with French jams, and egg dishes done to perfection as you enjoy the weekend in an authentic setting. The Buzz

"Food-wise there are simple French cafe favourites like salmon rillettes, smoked duck tartine and croque monsieur. On the weekends they serve a deliciously lazy breakfast all the way til 2.30pm. Try artisinal yoghurt from Normandy or the baked goodies like croissants, pain au chocolat served with Buerre d'Isigny butter and Bonne Manam fruit jams." -Appetite Asia

"Located just across the road from his classic French restaurant Brasserie Gavroche, the 40-seater Café Gavroche is Paris-born chef Frederic Colin's re-imagination of early 1900s Parisian coffeehouses - a quaint, Art Nouveau-style space filled with rattan chairs, cobblestone floors and elegant tiled paintings." -Time Out Singapore

    Raclette Saturday Dinners

Following the second anniversary of this slice-of-Paris cafe on arguably one of Singapore's hottest dining streets, Cafe & Bar Gavroche now brings French food lovers a new dining experience on Saturday evenings.

Chef Owner, Frederic Colin, whose passion has always been to introduce Singapore to the everyday French dining culture, is excited to present diners with traditional and home-style French Raclette dinners. For the unitiatied, Raclette is both a type of semi-soft cow cheese of mild pungency and salty perfection, as well as a meal that takes its name from the French verb "racler", meaning to "to scrape". Basically, the sort of meal waiting for cheese lovers in heaven.

Traditionally, French families would sit hungrily at dinner tables waiting for the Raclette cheese to be sufficiently melted under the heat of a stove. Then, each plate laden with boiled French Charlotte potatoes, cornichons, charcuterie and eggs is covered one by one in a steady stream of molten fromage.

Cafe & Bar Gavroche serves the Raclette the modern way, with electric table-top girlls with small pans in which to melt the cheese, and a grill hotplate to heat the potatoes and charcuterie. A filling meal enjoyed for its great simplicity and heartiness, Raclette dinners at Cafe & Bar Gavroche promises to be a perfect communal dinner best share with friends and family, and is reasonably priced at just $48++ per person!
